2-2 Project Proposal: Research Process

The research process is an important part of writing a persuasive essay. It allows you to build a bridge between your ideas and the evidence to support them. In this assignment, you will transition from the foundational work you did in the Module One assignment, and begin your independent library research. Your goal is to locate two additional sources that you think will support your topic.

This proposal will help with drafting the Module Three Project Draft assignment. In that assignment, you will bring together a total of three sources: the two sources you identify in this proposal, and the one original article you selected from the Project Resources for your Module One assignment. The Module Three Project Draft will later be revised further to become Part One of the project.

Directions

In this project proposal assignment, you will identify two potential sources from the Shapiro Library that support your topic and research goals.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

  1. Research Question: Which research question from your Module One assignment did you select? Explain your choice over the alternatives and describe any further revisions you made, including the reasons for those changes.
  2. Topic: Identify your chosen topic being researched, and provide a citation and link for two sources:
    1. The original article you selected from the Project Resources in Module One
    2. Two additional credible sources you have located in the Shapiro Library

Note: You are encouraged to practice using APA conventions for these citations; however, you will not be graded on the accuracy of the citation style.

  1. Sources: Explain how each source supports your research and potentially answers your research question.
