Overview

In this assignment, you will explore key concepts related to digital literacy skills, communication strategies, and community. This draft of the project will help support you in completing the rest of your project and will help you apply your knowledge of concepts related to digital communities.

Directions

First, consult the Project Guidelines and Rubric to review the expectations of the project. Next, review the templates provided for you in the What to Submit section. Choose the template that you would like to use for this project. Then, address the assignment prompts by completing all of Part One in the Project Template you have selected.

Note: You only need to choose one template to complete this project. You can find the Project Template choices linked in the What to Submit section. You can find the Project Guidelines and Rubric linked in the Supporting Materials section.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

Part One: Digital Community

1. Discuss how digital literacy skills help support meaningful connections in digital communities. Include the following:
   1. What digital literacy skills help support meaningful connections in a digital space?
   2. Why are digital literacy skills important to have when making connections in a digital community?
2. Describe communication strategies that encourage digital connections. Include the following:
   1. How does each strategy encourage digital connections?
   2. Does each strategy work all the time? Why or why not?
3. Compare the skills used to engage in both a digital and in-person community.
4. Explain why being inclusive of different cultures and backgrounds contributes to a respectful digital community.
5. Reflect on the skills you bring to a digital community. Include the following:
   1. What skills would you consider are your strengths?
   2. What skills would you like to develop further?
