6-2 Short Answer: Creative Work Analysis
Understanding diverse perspectives is beneficial in further understanding the humanities. Diverse perspectives are viewpoints that are influenced by a person’s or group’s background and identity as well as sociocultural and socioeconomic factors. They include things such as social status, gender, economic status, and cultural heritage. In this assignment, you will have a chance to analyze a new creative work and explore how diverse perspectives influence the artist’s self-concept as well as how creative works of the humanities might be perceived differently by different groups of people.
Directions
In this short answer assignment, you will analyze a creative work (literary or visual). It can be the same one you used for your discussion, or you may select a new one. You can select one on your own or use one included in the module guide or learning resources. Respond in a couple of sentences to a paragraph for each rubric criterion.
Specifically, you must address the following:
- Diverse Perspectives: Describe the diverse perspectives that are represented in the work.
- Be certain to cite the work according to APA citation guidelines.
- Self-Concept: Describe how your self-concept influences your perspective of the work.
- How might certain aspects of your identity, including sociocultural factors, influence the way you perceive the work?
- Interpret the Creative Work: Describe how different groups of people might interpret the creative work based on specific sociocultural or socioeconomic factors.
- For example, how might different generations perceive it?
- How might a culture different from the one represented perceive it?
