This week focuses on professional communication and personal branding through the development of an elevator speech. Students create a concise and persuasive introduction that highlights their background, strengths, and career goals. The activity is designed to improve networking skills and prepare students for interactions with potential employers or professional contacts.
Deliverables
Elevator Speech (Optional Discussion Post)
- Create a 30–60 second elevator speech introducing yourself.
- Submit either:
- A video of yourself delivering the speech, or
- A written script if you do not have access to a camera.
- Ensure your speech includes:
- An introduction (name, background, university, major, or graduation date).
- Your interests, strengths, experience, and the value you bring.
- A closing statement explaining what opportunities you are seeking.
- Deliver the speech in a natural, clear, and professional manner.
- Provide constructive feedback to at least two classmates based on the speech content, delivery, and overall effectiveness.
