Paper Overview
Introduction
What makes a person a good leader? How does one prepare to lead well? Consider these two questions and other ideas to set the context for the paper and to engage the reader.
Body
Based on your synthesis of course concepts and reflection of your own experiences, articulate your philosophy of leadership. What are the essential characteristics of a good leader and how might this type of leader approach ethical dilemmas? Additionally, what are the benefits of an individual utilizing cultural competence and sensitivity in their leadership and engagement? How can these qualities help a person lead groups in the campus and/or community environments and make a difference in a constantly changing world?
Through this paper, you should explore these questions about leadership and identify an exemplar who is/has made a difference in a community while demonstrating these characteristics that you believe are essential to ethical and/or intercultural leadership. What area is this leader making a positive difference? (For instance, is this leader addressing an organizational, local, national, or global issue such as homelessness, mental health challenges, food insecurity (food desserts), discrimination, economic development issues, inadequate educational opportunities, corruption, or human rights?) What stands out as noteworthy about this leader? What can we learn from this leader?
Include your own analysis and interpretation as you discuss these topics. (Feel free to use subheadings.)
Conclusion
In the conclusion, include how can you personally continue your own growth in the areas you have addressed in the paper.
The assignment should be submitted as a 6 page, typed, and double-spaced paper. This includes a required cover page and reference page. It should be formatted using APA, 7thedition and include a minimum of two references.
